FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Theatre West Club Presents 2024/2025 Season Changes
[Sun City West, Arizona] -- In the last two weeks, unforeseen circumstances have surfaced regarding the club’s IRS tax-exempt status. Due to an internal paperwork issue within the IRS, the club's exemption has been inadvertently canceled. The board has carefully reviewed the situation and, in consultation with our CPA, has determined that this is not due to any fault or oversight on the part of the volunteer board members.
While it is incredibly frustrating that this error by the government has impacted our 2024-2025 Theatre West season, we are committed to moving forward with resolve. The board, along with the CPA, are actively engaging with the IRS to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we are committed to complying with all relevant IRS regulations and Recreation Center policies as we navigate this process.
Given the current circumstances, the board has decided the prudent course of action is to refund all subscriptions and tickets for the upcoming season’s shows. The first two plays will now be transitioned to charity events, ensuring that we continue to serve our community while we work toward restoring our tax-exempt status.
For ticket holders and those with subscriptions:
Credit card payments will be refunded directly to your card.
Check or cash payments will be refunded by the club treasurer.
But the show will go on.
We hope you'll come and enjoy our wonderful casts and crew’s quality productions. There will be open seating but in addition the board voted unanimously to honor refunded reserve seating. Any further updates will be available to the public at https://theatrewestscw.com/shows as soon as possible.
